Outreach Incubator in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland The Outreach Incubator is a new advice and support for technology-based Ventures in the Highlands and Islands. It is designed to support high-tech entrepreneurs through the initial challenging stages before and after setting up their businesses, so that individuals and small companies can realise the commercial potential of their ideas. Outreach Incubator is the brainchild of Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE), adapted from successful incubator models established in the UK, Europe and America to meet the highly individual geographic, Economic and social circumstances of the region. It offers specialist support for people with innovative high-tech business ideas, who do not have the necessary business expertise or resources to get their project up and running. The Outreach Incubator Manager will first discuss the business idea. If it looks as though the idea has some potential, independent checks will be carried out on its technical and business viability. If this first phase suggests that the idea is potentially sound, the service will then offer essential business expertise, giving the knowledge to explore the market potential and create a sound business environment for the launch and subsequent growth of the product. The service is comprehensive and for example, help and advise you to protect the idea, prepare the business plan, build a team and raise finance.
