'International FoodMicro symposium', Istanbul, Turkey

Event date:2012-09-03

An event entitled 'International FoodMicro symposium' will take place from 3 to 7 September 2012 in Istanbul, Turkey.

Microbiology is the study of the microorganisms that inhabit, create, or contaminate food. Food safety is the principal focus of food microbiology. It is closely related to topics such as nutrition, health, legal regulations, trade and economy. It plays a critical role in the establishment of food safety regulations. Technological advances, including pasteurisation and refrigeration, have contributed to the safety of the food supply. However, the centralisation of food processing and the widespread distribution of food can facilitate the spread of foodborne pathogens.

The aim of this conference is to bring together experts such as microbiologists, food safety experts, and bacteriologists to discuss their latest research developments and trends.
