Description
Objective:
The main objective is to provide a knowledge base of how we may support autonomy in old age to enhance quality of life of elders and their family caregivers. Variations in family solidarity and welfare regimes in interaction as impacting quality of life will be studied, to give recommendations on sustainable service systems for the future. A comparative cross-cultural, cross-generational approach will be used. Cross-sectional (survey) of 3 cohorts (75+, 50-60, 20-30) and longitudinal in-depth interviews (a year apart) with 25-40 dyads of 'elders at risk' and their caregivers will be performed.
