Description
Objective:
ESCoRTS is a joint endeavour among EU process industries, utilities, leading manufacturers of control equipment and research institutes, under the lead of CEN, to foster progress towards cyber security of control and communication equipment in Europe. ESCoRTS will be intersectoral, embracing the following industrial fields: power, gas, oil, chemicals and petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing.
Key objectives of ESCoRTS include:
- Developing a common understanding of industrial needs and requirements regarding the security of control systems and the related standardisation, accompanied by a raising awareness programme reaching all stakeholders.
- Identifying and disseminating best practice, possibly in a joint endeavour between manufacturers and end users, resulting in a joint capability and technology taxonomy of security solutions.
