Coordinated call for proposals with Russia for Aeronautics and air transport (AAT)

The European Commission has published its 'Aeronautics and air transport (AAT) coordinated call for proposals with Russia. The document is part of the latest set of calls published under the EU's Seventh Framework Programme (FP7).
The call comes as a follow-up to AAT workshops held between European and Russian stakeholders. With EU funding amounting to EUR 4.5 million, it encompasses four fields of research and development:
- Reliable novel composite aircraft structures based on geodesic technology;
- New flow control strategies for improved aircraft performance in all phases of flight;
- More electric technologies for aircraft control system;
- New airborne systems with open architecture that can be used for diagnostics, for example.
The project is expected to enhance cooperation in research and innovation between the EU and Russia.
