Workshops "Research in the waste Area - Towards the FP7", organised by the European Commission, DG Research, Directorate - Environment, "Environmental Technologies and Pollution Prevention" Unit

In order to contribute to the FP7 Work Programme on Waste, the Environmental Technologies and Pollution Prevention Unit of DG RTD had decided to host 2 on invitation-only Workshops in Brussels. The first one was held on 31st January 2006 and was mainly process-oriented, whilst the second one, on 13th February 2006, was more product-oriented.

The scope of these workshops was to discuss with European leading scientists and industrial associations the state of the art of research in the waste area, the perspectives of development in the medium term, and the existing barriers to the full exploitation of research results both inside and outside Europe.
