| Abstract The work should be aimed at the setting up of methodologies and techniques which could allow to give advises in the field of integrated management of the Mediterranean coastal areas. It will consist in: 7 Synthesis of existing information on coastal fisheries dynamics, ecology, biogeography and environmental parameters in the coastal zone, 7 Data processing to allow the use of the information within Geographical lnformation Systems, 7 Development of meteorological procedures aimed at the modelling of the various activities which interact within the coastal zone system. The proposed work is straitghly linked with an EEC Concerted Action started in April 1995 between Spain, France and Italy: "Research in Fisheries in the western Mediterranean: interdisciplinary approach".
