The Large Installations Plan (1989 - 1992) of the European Community has funded 17 large-scale scientific and technical installations in the Member States. As a result more than 1600 researchers from accross European Union have had free access to these facicities and have been able to carry out research at the cutting edge of science and technology.

The brochure « Access to Large-scale Facilities funded by The Large Installations Plan (1989 - 1992) » contains summaries, with illustrations, of the 17 projects funded under the Plan. For each project, there is a summary of the main features of the installation together with an overview of the research directly supported under the Plan. Key facts, such as the number and nationalities of the researchers who visited each installation and contact names and addresses, are also provided.
