Objectives of research
Main objectives:
The main objective of this project is to develop a common methodology to analyse transport and travel surveys. This is to enable those who design traffic management strategies and policies to get a better understanding of the potential effects on particular socio-economic groups who may lose mobility and access to desired destinations as a result. As travel demand varies across different social groups, regions and time, this project is to investigate the major socio-economic factors affecting behaviour through a comparative analysis of travel demand elasticities in five European countries. An analysis of data available for this purpose is to be performed for several Member States.
