Objectives of research
Main objectives:
Identified roles for each actor in the transport chain; Determined need for information exchange between the actors; New or adapted existing (EDI) messages; Identified constraints and prerequisites for the information exchange; Rules for the exchange of information; Demonstrated IT solutions in the form of generic model; Input for harmonisation.
Demo Sites:
STORA and Avesta Sheffield export via Gothenburg STORA - Greece, warehousing and distribution
Links with other projects, tasks, areas, programmes, policy actions:
Results from projects within the running Framework Programme, e.g. EUROBORDER, IPSI, INTERPORT, BOPCOM etc will be integrated. INFOLOG will co-operate with PROSIT and COBOLT and also liaise with standardisation activities within CEN, mainly TC278 and UN/EDIFACT
