Big-data-for-aquaculture project (aquaSmart) closer to making predictive analysis a reality for fish farmers

AquaSmart participates at the ESRDublin2015 event this November 2015.

Led by WIT-TSSG, the aquaSmart project delivered the Open cloud based platform based documents for metrication analysis and system architecture definition. The development of these deliverables involved a number of partners on the technical front including JSI (Slovenia), I2S (Greece) and UNINOVA (Portugal) engaging with and for in-depth and detailed discussions with our fish farming partners including Andromeda (Spain), Ardag Cooperative Agricultural Society (Israel) and Grammos (Greece). The development of both deliverables greatly benefited from the recent visit to the fish farm of Grammos and from the engagement and bi-directional discussions with members of our external advisory board. We will continue to advance the project towards the development of the Open cloud based platform adopting an agile methodological approach and the direct involvement of fish farmers and members of the advisory board. Please note that you can register your interest in this big-data-for-aquaculture project at www.aquasmartdata.eu. Follow us on Twitter: @AquaSmartData. Note also that you can come and meet us around our plenary meeting sessions in Dublin 4th – 6th November at the Grand Hotel, Malahide, Co Dublin, Ireland. We will participate and present our views on Big Data at the ESRDublin2015 event (www.ESRDublin2015.eu). Registration for this 3 day event is free and via the web site. It promises to be an exhilarating event with the engagement of delegates, European research projects, invited speakers, world cafe sessions, parallel, engaging CEN committee meeting and exhibitors under the one roof for 3 days.
