Energetic Start into the Summer Break: New Publications by the European IP Helpdesk

Just before entering the summer break, the European IP Helpdesk has released a couple of new formats and publications to provide European SMEs and researchers with targeted support measures for the management and valorisation of technologies and other intellectual property (IP) assets at an EU level.

With a redesigned thematic online magazine, a new blog and a signposting directory, the team aims to further expand and enrich its existing service offers to meet the demands of a growing IP and innovation community around and beyond Europe. On top of that, the group put together a new fact sheet taking a look at how the EU’s new copyright directive aims to make current copyright law fit for the digital age. BULLETIN With a new consortium in place since the beginning of 2019, the well-established Bulletin format has been reworked and is now available as an HTML online magazine and a downloadable PDF version. This year’s first edition is focused on IP licensing and contains a number of expert articles written by acknowledged professionals in the field, interviews and best practice examples from the world of technology transfer. BLOG “IP SENTINEL” At the beginning of July, the team has also launched its brand-new blog, the “IP Sentinel”. It is designed to complement the existing online formats and sections of the European IP Helpdesk with a fresh and light style of presenting weekly IP news and monthly editorial pieces. SIGNPOSTING DIRECTORY The latest tool in the Helpdesk’s portfolio is a signposting directory. As part of the helpline services, the dynamic database gives access to key institutions and services active in the fields of intellectual property, research and business support. It includes organisations at EU, national and regional level in each of the 28 EU Member States as well as in the COSME countries.   FACT SHEET The latest fact sheet published by the Helpdesk team is dedicated to the EU’s new “Directive on Copyright and Related Rights in the Digital Single Market”. It provides an overview of the most important changes and legal implications, and takes a look ahead at the next steps. ABOUT THE EUROPEAN IP HELPDESK The European IP Helpdesk provides free-of-charge first-line support on IP-related issues aiming to help current and potential beneficiaries of EU-funded projects, as well as EU SMEs, manage their Intellectual Property assets.
