How the URBAN GreenUP project played an active role at COP25

The UN Climate Change Conference COP 25 was held in Madrid (Spain) from the 2nd to the 13th of December 2019 under the Presidency of the Government of Chile. The conference was a major opportunity for stakeholders to meet and take stock of current and future initiatives to fight climate change. No wonder that a project such as URBAN GreenUP was selected as one of the “Actors for Climate” in the framework of the Sectorial Climate Action and Innovation & Science Forum at the Green Zone on the 7th of December. And this is not the whole story, as on the 3rd of December the URBAN GreenUP partner Bocconi University co-organised the side event “Nature-based solutions & Global Climate Action: strengthening synergies beyond 2020”. During the event on the 7th, which also saw the participation of the My Building is Green project, URBAN GreenUP was represented by Raúl Sánchez (project coordinator), Silvia Gómez, Jose María Sanz and Esther San José from the CARTIF Technology Centre. The team gave an overview of URBAN GreenUP, focusing on the innovative aspects of the project renaturing methodology and on expected impacts such as new opportunities and products, green jobs and environmental awareness.
