More and more companies are reaping the rewards of the European Union Funding initiatives to support startups, projects and SMEs. The European Innovation Council and Horizon 2020 is supporting top-class innovators, entrepreneurs, and small companies with funding opportunities and acceleration services, and startup by startup rapidly becoming the "Silicon Valley VCs of Europe". Transmetrics, a leading software provider of predictive optimization solutions for the logistics industry, was one of the 75 projects that were awarded the grants. Transmetrics offers predictive optimization Software-as-a-Service based on Artificial Intelligence for the cargo transport industry. Transmetrics' products help cargo companies to continuously increase their operational efficiency and reduce costs. Transmetrics will be developing new tools to support dynamic inventory management and customer portfolio assessment. All of this will be facilitated by Transmetrics' proprietary predictive algorithms and a unique data cleansing methodology that dramatically reduces the system integration time. The European Union Funding initiative provides grant-only support as well as support in the form of blended finance investment (combining grants from 500K up to €2.5mln and equity up to €15mln). The scheme supports projects, startups, small and medium-sized innovative enterprises willing to develop and commercialise new products, services and business models that could drive economic growth and shape new markets or disrupt existing ones in Europe and worldwide.
