European IST news
Based on actual results, the project offers best practice in management, consulting and training and could be considered an efficient instrument in accessing the next funds approved by European Commission through Specific Programmes implementing the Seventh Framework Programme – FP7 (2007-2013). The consortium for EUROPEAN IST is coordinate by FIMAN Development Services (Romania) and includes relevant organizations from 8 countries, of which 3 are Member States (France, Spain and Greece), 3 are New Member States (Hungary, Cyprus, Poland) and 2 are Associated Candidates Countries (Romania, Bulgaria). After less than a year of activity the consortium already obtained many relevant successes according to the project’s objectives. Thus, until now, 5 training sessions have been organized in each New Member States and Associated Candidate Countries of the consortium and more than 500 researchers have been trained about participation in the 6th Framework Programme. As a result of these training sessions there have been created consortia and around 70 new project proposals have been submitted, especially within Call 5 from IST/ FP6 (Call for proposals from the R&D ICT domain). In May 2005, in Sinaia, Romania, was organized a Brokerage Event with a participation of over 50 foreign organizations and over 50 local ones, gathering SMEs and research organizations from European countries with an ultimate goal to prepare consortia for FP6 proposals. Five hundred research organizations are registered and promoted in the project database from the website (www.european-ist.net) which represents an important resource for identifying the necessary competencies for building international consortia, and an excellent support for information and cooperation. All interested parts are invited to contact the EUROPEAN IST consortium, which, through its permanent connection with 10 other initiatives (STARNET, CEEC IST, IDEALIST…..), represents one of the best gateways for the European research network. More details on the project can be obtained by accessing the www.european-ist.net website or by emailing your national contact.
