The European Commission, DG XI, has launched an open call for tender for a study relating to a European Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control Bureau. The Commission is awarding a study contract for a project whose aim is to support, in 1996, the creation and operation of a European Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control Bureau (EIPPCB) set up in order to develop and manage a European Information System, and to participate in the elaboration of draft BAT (best available techniques) reference documents for the particular industrial sectors specified in Annex I of the Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control Directive, according to the criteria laid down in the Directive. The project must be completed within 12 months from the date of signature of the contract, although this period may be renewed twice for a further twelve months.
