Third international forum for the development of SMEs

The third international forum for the development of SMEs will take place at the Basel/Mulhouse airport on the French-Swiss border on 25 and 26 November 1998. The theme of the event will be joint ventures and successful partnership strategies.

In addition to outlining to participants the possible structures, and advantages and disadvantages, to joint ventures, the forum will also serve as a meeting point where companies can discuss possible partnerships. A key element in the programme will be a presentation of the new EU Joint European Venture programme, which aims to foster the creation of cross-border partnerships between European SMEs. Other programmes aimed at facilitating partnerships between EU companies and companies from developing countries.

Other presentations will look at financing joint ventures, the legal structures for joint ventures and practical guidance for the working of a joint venture.
