The European Commission, DG III, has published an invitation to tender for a study linked to equipment and protective systems intended for potentially explosive atmospheres (ATEX). The purpose of this study is to get an overview of the market of products covered by Directive 94/9/EC, including a limited competitive analysis. The study should also describe and assess the market for ATEX products within the EU, including information about types of products, product output and import and export of products. This should involve the collection and analysis of information about EU manufacturers of ATEX equipment and protective systems and the provision of information on the branches using these products.
