The European Technology Transfer Initiative at the JRC is an action plan approved by the Commission in January 1998 aimed at improving technology transfer and collaboration in research across Europe. One aspect of the action plan involves the creation of a European Technology Transfer Network (ETTN) which aims to improve the technology transfer process through an effective network of services and information exchange. The whole action is divided into five lots, which are presently being tendered by the Commission, this present call concerning two specific lots. The priority, but not exclusive, target group of this call is existing Information Technology platforms, the European telecommunications and software industry, and sectoral industrial organisations of SMEs. The two lots being tendered are as follows: - Development of an application software in order to provide a cohesive layer and allow access to the sectoral and trans-sectoral services delivered by the ETTN via Internet protocols (Lot 2); - Market survey to assess the-state-of-the-art, technology integration, impact on potential users, market potential and a business plan for the ETTN (Lot 5).
