The third issue of the international COMADEM journal has recently been published, aiming at the promotion of condition monitoring and diagnostic engineering management in the manufacturing, engineering and service industries. The journal presents the following papers: - Digital signal processing algorithms in condition monitoring; - Estimation of envelope spectra using maximum entropy spectral analysis and spectrum interpolation; - Tool for the creation of second generation expert for corrective maintenance problems; - Adaptive fuzzy monitoring and fault detection. The journal also provides information on COMADEM'99, an international congress and exhibition on condition monitoring and diagnostic engineering management, which will be held in Sunderland, United Kingdom, from 6 to 9 July 1999. The event will bring together the developers and users of the technology to present and discuss their achievements and will aim to strengthen the links between academic researchers and industrial practitioners.
