The EuroRIs-Net project is broadening its scope proposing new services to ensure coordination and synergies between Research Infrastructures NCPs for reinforcing research infrastructures of European interest.
The project is gaining speed in its second year of implementation. Very good cooperation is established between 35 project partners. At the First workshop held in Paris NCPs for RIs and other NCP network coordinators, EC representatives, ESFRI members, Programme Committee members, RI project coordinators met to explore the current role of the NCPs and to provide a starting point for dialogue on NCPs future role towards FP8 and ERA - see http://www.euroris-net.eu/News/project_news/index.dot Training on financial and legal issues connected with applications for RIs calls and implementation of approved projects was held in Bonn where all partners took part and evaluated the training as very useful for their work. The network was well presented at the Conference “Research Infrastructures and Regional Dimension of ERA-RIC” held in Prague, March 24-25, 2009 and the Research Connection 2009,7-8 May, 2009, again in Prague. A lot of services are available at the project site for both the Research Infrastructure NCPs and researchers/programme users to solve their problems in the every day work and their participation in FP7 RIs calls to be facilitated. The project is expanding the research community of existing Research Infrastructures by finding new users. The coordinators of projects where transnational access of foreign researchers is foreseen but where there is insufficient number of users, are invited to fill the questionnaire at http://www.euroris-net.eu/questionnaire/ . They can also benefit from contacting relevant RI National Contact Point. On the other hand, European researchers looking for high-level infrastructures to run their experiments, make analyses or investigate special collections and databanks, all these free of charge, can find proper FP7 project, under http://www.euroris-net.eu/dotAsset/3543.xls . Learn more through the success stories gathered under the project and the new promotional tool - a short DVD “Research Infrastructures: why so important” - to understand better the European Research Infrastructures and to be encouraged to participate in the FP7 Capacities programme using the help of NCPs. Available success stories: The European Theoretical Spectroscopy Facility - Belgium- October 2008 INCREASE project- Climate Change EcoSystem Processes- Denmark- November 2008 UCLP- A software which changes the management and control of optical networks- February 2009 Information for all project activities is updated constantly at the project web site: www.euroris-net.eu. Visit it to learn about current FP7 Capacities – Research Infrastructures calls and to find news related to the development of the European Research Infrastructures.
