Commission publishes call for proposals for INNOVATION

The European Commission has announced a call for proposals under the Fifth Framework Programme (FP5) for Research, Technological Development and Demonstration (RTD) activities for the period 1998 to 2002.

The call is for proposals for indirect RTD actions under the specific programme for RTD on "Promotion of innovation and encouragement of SME participation" (1998 to 2002).

The call relates to proposals called under by a fixed deadline, following which evaluation will take place.

Those eligible to participate in indirect RTD actions under the specific programme, are invited to submit proposals that address the following parts of the work programme.

- Innovation projects;
- Accompanying Measures to Innovation projects.

The content and scope of the call is as follows:

- Innovation projects;
- Three types of accompanying measures:
- - "Cluster support measures" (AM clusters);
- - "Common promotional structure" (AM promo);
- - "Innovation policy interface" (AM policy).

The types of indirect actions the call relates to are combined projects and accompanying measures.

Evaluation for this call will take place in one step, and the indicative budget available for it is 30 million euro.
