The European Commission, DG XI, has published an open invitation to tender for the application of a decentralised approach to the rehabilitation of contaminated territories as a result of the Chernobyl accident. The Commission wishes to contract a study to demonstrate that the success achieved with the use of decentralised approaches to rehabilitation can be extended to the level of a district and, secondly, to develop guidance on how such an approach could be more widely disseminated.
