Services required in JRC's nitrogen plant

The Institute for Transuranium Elements of the European Commission's Joint Research Centre wishes to award a contract for renewal measures for measuring, controlling and regulating equipment of the nitrogen plant in B wing. The nitrogen plant enables hot cells to be filled and comprises two main-circuit ventilators, two driers, one catalyser, coolers and measuring, control and regulating equipment.

The contract would cover the replacement of the switch cabinet and all the necessary cabling and canning of the control instruments as well as the mounting and commissioning of the installation.

The nitrogen plant's actuators and sensors that need replaced comprise: three pressure-regulator circuits, two temperature-regulator circuits, approximately 20 temperature sensors, 40 manometers, six moisture sensors, 11 oxygen sensors, seven flow transmitters, approximately 80 valves, eight ventilators, two Roots blowers, one heater, three coolers, one catalyser and two absorption dryers.

The installation is controlled and regulated by an automisation system and overriding process-control equipment, which are part of the service.
