Growth programme opens call for measurements and testing and infrastructure

The Competitive and Sustainable Growth programme, part of the EU's Fifth Framework Programme has published a dedicated call for research in measurements and testing, and support for research infrastructure.

The fixed-deadline call opens specific topics in the following areas of the work programme:

- Generic activities: measurements and testing (available budget ten million euros):
- - Methodologies to support standardisation and Community policies;
- - Measurements and testing anti-fraud methodologies;
- - Support to the development of certified reference materials (CRMs)

- Support for research infrastructures (eight million euros):
- - Support activities to medium and large-scale facilities;
- - Setting up of virtual institutes;
- - Reference data bases;
- - Measurement and quality management infrastructures.

The Commission has prepared a supporting document for each individual topic, detailing the objectives to be met. These are also available along with the guide for proposers and the work programme from the address below.

When submitting a dedicated call for proposals, proposers may also include an application for a 'Bursary for young researchers from developing countries'. The guide for proposers provides further information about this.
