The first 2000 call for proposals under the Competitive and Sustainable Growth programme, part of the EU's Fifth Framework Programme has been published by the European Commission. Proposals are invited in certain specified areas of all four of the Key Actions and the Generic Activities section of the programme. Potential proposers should consult the call text to check exactly what areas are open for proposals. The text may be found in the Official Journal and on the CORDIS website, at: http://cordis.europa.eu/growth/calls/199905.htm Potential proposers should note that they need to refer to the Guide for Proposers, the Growth programme's work programme and the information package, all of which are available on CORDIS at the above address. In addition, the Commission has made some minor modifications to the application form to be used, so proposers should check they have the most recent version. Proposers are reminded that the ProTool application is available for those who wish to submit applications electronically, and may also be used to prepare the forms for conventional delivery - details are in the Guide for Proposers. Proposers may still submit proposals concerning those areas of the programme subject to continuous submission from the call published on 16 March 1999 (OJ No C 72 of 16.3.1999 p. 31), including Marie Curie Fellowships, SME specific measures, accompanying measures and expressions of interest. However it should be noted that the revised work programme published on 15 December 1999 should be taken into account in preparing such proposals.
