Database for employment research series and the Employment in Europe report

The European Commission has issued an invitation to tender for the creation and updating of a database for the Employment in Europe report and employment research series.

The Employment in Europe report has been produced annually since 1989. The editorial of the report, the main policy document, is produced in all Community languages comprising 40,000 copies. The full report is published in three languages in more than 20,000 copies.

A mailing list was created to ensure distribution of the report, originally containing 10,000 addresses. A recent cleanup reduced it to less than 4,000 addresses. The database exists in a relational database called SAGA, developed by the Commission services.

The object of the tender invitation is to update the existing list database to arrive at around 12,000 addresses. The Commission also wants the SAGA-Acteurs database (which will be used for maintaining the stock of addresses and tracking the flows) to be developed to deal with multiple copies by language for subscribed persons.
