The Information Society Standardisation System unit of the European Committee for Standardisation (CEN/ISSS) has been asked to commission a study to evaluate the market relevance of its activities in the area of cultural diversity. CEN/ISSS is therefore looking for consultants to undertake the EU-funded study, which should identify to what extent multicultural and multilingual requirements are an impediment to the further development of electronic commerce and the Information Society. The report should investigate how standardisation, as a mechanism for consensus building, can help companies do business while complying with user and market requirements. The findings of the study will be presented in the form of a report, delivered at a public meeting in Brussels in October 2000. Full details of the call can be found on the CEN/ISSS website at: URL: http://www.cenorm.be/isss/News/callrev.htm For further information please contact: James Boyd Strategy Manager CEN/ISSS - Information Society Standardization System Rue de Stassart, 36 B-1050 Brussels Tel. +32-2-5500933; Fax +32-2-5500966 E-mail: james.boyd@cenorm.be URL: http://www.cenorm.be/isss
