Accompanying measures to improve human potential

A call for proposals for accompanying measures to the European Commission's specific programme for 'Improving the human research potential and the socio-economic knowledge base' is now open. This call replaces an earlier call for accompanying measures to this part of the Fifth RTD Framework programme, published in June 1999.

The call covers the following specific measures:

- Studies in support of the programme and in preparation for future activities, including on strategic issues arising in the course of the programme;

- exchanges of information, conferences, seminars, workshops, round tables, study panels or other scientific or technical meetings;

- information, communication, and dissemination activities for the promotion and exploitation of results and the transfer of technology;

- support in order to bring together potential participants as a means of stimulating proposals in new emerging fields of science ad technology and in novel trans-disciplinary approaches or in fields where there is little history of trans-national cooperation.

Some 8 million euro is available to fund accompanying measures under this notice.

The call relates to proposals called under a continuous submission scheme, under which proposals will be evaluated at intervals that depend on the number of proposals received but which will not exceed four months.

The first evaluation deadline of this scheme is 8 September 2000, however proposals may be submitted at any time up to 28 June 2002 when the scheme closes.

All the information needed to prepare and submit a proposal is given in the guide for proposers for accompanying measures, which can be obtained, along with the work programme and other information relating to this call, from the address below.
