Restricted call for tender for THERMIE

The Commission of the European Communities, Directorate-General for Energy (DG XVII), has launched a restricted call for tenders for cooperation with the Commission in the implementation of associated measures arising from the THERMIE programme.

This invitation concerns exclusively the undertaking of associated measures designed to encourage the application and market penetration of energy technologies (not more than 100 candidates will be invited to tender). They include:
- Analysis of the characteristics and evaluation of the market potential;
- Monitoring and evaluation of projects financed by the Community;
- Dissemination of information on the promotion of energy technologies and on the results of projects;
- Performance of the above activities with a view to industrial cooperation with third countries;
- Coordination of the promotion activities under the THERMIE programme and the evaluation of similar programmes run by the Member States.

The programme covers non-nuclear energy technologies in the fields of rational use of energy in buildings, industry, the energy industry and transport; renewable energy sources (solar, biomass and waste, geothermal, hydroelectricity and wind energy); solid fuels (combustion, conversion, waste and gasification); and hydrocarbons (exploration, production, transport and storage).
