Gateways for EC databases

The Office for Official Publications of the European Community (EUR-OP) is responsible for marketing the databases of the European Institutions. Currently there are ten of these. In order to carry out this task, EUR-OP intends to make use of a network of official distributors acting as gateways. The services required of the distributors are: - Marketing of all existing products and, save for compelling reasons, future products distributed by EUR-OP; - Promoting these products, including participation at shows and fairs; - Producing or reproducing documentation and supplying it to users; - Training users, possibly in cooperation with the network of existing training contractors; - Providing access to the databases as far as possible at all times: - Providing a help-desk facility in the customers languages; - Regularly informing customers of product development; - Invoicing. EUR-OP will provide to the distributors: - Reference versions of the databases; - Uninterrupted online service; - Reference documentation and updates; - Staff training; - Priority treatment when new products are distributed.
