KAROLUS: Exchange of officials between Member States

A Commission Decision of 21 December 1993 establishes priority areas for the action plan for the exchange between Member State administrations of officials engaged in the implementation of legislation required to achieve the internal market (KAROLUS programme).

A Commission Decision of 21 December 1993 establishes priority areas for the action plan for the exchange between Member State administrations of officials engaged in the implementation of legislation required to achieve the internal market (KAROLUS programme).

Priorities for 1994 include, inter alia, officials concerned with:

- Pharmaceutical products and medical products (and in particular those with responsibility for the establishment of a network of remote links in the field of medical data-processing);
- Testing and market supervision in personal protective equipment, measuring instruments, electromagnetic compatibility, medical devices, chemicals, and good laboratory practice;
- The health of plants and plant products;
- Road or sea transport;
- Operation of the statistical programmes relating to the internal market.

The Decision applies from 1 January 1994.
