New Secretary-General for EUROGI

At a meeting of the Executive Committee of EUROGI on 22 July 1994, Mr. Christian Chenez was confirmed as Secretary-General of the EUROGI Secretariat. Mr. Chenez will take up his appointment in mid-September for a period of three years.

At a meeting of the Executive Committee of EUROGI on 22 July 1994, Mr. Christian Chenez was confirmed as Secretary-General of the EUROGI Secretariat. Mr. Chenez will take up his appointment in mid-September for a period of three years.

EUROGI has been established as part of the IMPACT programme which aims to develop the European information services market. The purpose of EUROGI is to stimulate, encourage and support the development and use of geographical information at European level, as well as coordinating new initiatives.

The next general board meeting will take place in March 1995, in conjunction with the Joint European Conference and Exhibition on Geographical Information in The Hague.
