A Council Decision of 25 March 1991 (91/170/EEC) concerns the conclusion of a cooperation agreement between the European Economic Community and the Republic of Iceland on a programme plan to stimulate the international cooperation and interchange needed by European research scientists (SCIENCE, 1988-92). The text of the Agreement is appended to the Decision, with Annexes listing SCIENCE objectives and setting out financial provisions and rules. Aiming to improve the efficacity of scientific and technical research in all Member States and thereby reducing scientific and technical disparities between the different Member States, the stimulation plan covers all fields of science and technology (the exact and natural sciences). It encompasses: Training, mobility of research workers; high-quality scientific and technical cooperation; cooperative and interchange networks reinforcing the overall scientific and technical competitivity of the Community.
