In response to requests from VALUE Relay Centres and other frequent CORDIS users, the RTD-Partners entry form is now available electronically.

From 28 September 1994, in order to obtain an electronic version of the RTD-Partners form, you will be able to send an e-mail request to CORDIS. The form can be completed electronically and then returned to CORDIS by e-mail for rapid inclusion in the RTD-Partners database.

The introduction of the electronic entry form has been timed to coincide with the start of the programmes taking place under the Fourth Framework Programme. There has been a great deal of interest in using the RTD-Partners database to identify partners for these programmes and approximately 50 new entries have been received each week in the last few months. This means that there are now almost 13,000 requests for partnership on the database.

By completing the RTD-Partners entry form, your organization's details, potential programme and research interest(s) will be available to more than 8,000 registered CORDIS users who currently access the database for 200 hours a month.

The process required for obtaining an electronic entry form is as follows:

Step 1:

Send an e-mail message to: E-mail: cordis-cp@lcd.co.uk

There is no need to include any text in the mail message as the system will respond automatically by sending you two files. The first file is a "readme" file which contains detailed information about the process and guidance for completing the on-line entry form as well as relevant codes. The second file contains the electronic entry form itself.

Step 2:

Download the form and the "readme" file to a word-processing file. Full instructions on completing the form are given in the "readme" file.

Step 3:

Return the completed form to the e-mail address provided in the "readme" file. Your data will then be processed rapidly and added to the RTD-Partners database.

Since the new electronic form is currently on trial, we would welcome any comments or suggestions on ways in which it could be improved.
