The European Commission has decided to allocate ECU 23 million from the PHARE programme to the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, in order to provide humanitarian aid to the sectors most affected by the war in the former Yugoslavia. The aid will be focused on the following three areas: - Provisions for centres carrying out humanitarian work (ECU 7.5 million); - Provision of primary materials in the key sectors relating to food and energy (ECU 7.4 million); - Furnishing of materials and exchange pieces to relaunch the food sector (ECU 6.6 million).
