World energy related analyses and a study on short-term energy outlook

The European Commission, DG XVII, has published an invitation to tender for the provision of detailed world-energy related analyses and a short-term energy outlook study for the European Union. The publication will contain the following:

- Executive summary of the key messages and world trends;

- European Union: Reports by country, plus a consolidated EU report, containing comprehensive analyses of annual energy consumption, production, prices and CO2 emissions by sector and by fuel. Each country report should include detailed analyses of the economic, policy, and regulatory factors affecting energy markets as well as providing analysis on the implications of changes in inter-fuel competition, energy conservation trends, energy efficiency and intensity, environmental trends and other relevant factors;

- Rest of Europe and Former Soviet Union (FSU): Reports by country highlighting recent changes and a summary energy balance. Produce additional consolidated reports for Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC) and the FSU;

- Rest of the world: Reports for major countries highlighting recent changes and a summary energy balance. Produce additional consolidated reports for each trade bloc;

- Short-term energy outlook: EU econometric modelling of macro-economic indicators, prices, supply and demand balances quarterly by fuel and by sector, forecasting up to 7 quarters ahead.
