Call for expressions of interest in membership of the European Technology Assessment Network

Within the scope of the targeted socio-economic research programme, the European Commission is launching a call for expressions of interest in membership of the European Technology Assessment Network (ETAN) in parallel with the first call for proposals published on 15 March 1995.

ETAN is designed to bring together researchers and users of technology assessment. Members of the network will contribute and receive information about activities in the field and have the opportunity to take part in and/or organize seminars, conferences and other activities aimed at the exchange of information and experiences, dissemination of good practice and provision of information and advice.

Expressions of interest are invited from research units wishing to be considered for membership. Selection criteria for membership are:

- A track record of performing research in the fields of evaluation of science and technology options in Europe, science and technology management, innovation studies or closely related subjects; or
- A track record of having contributed to the elucidation of technology assessment or related issues in an applied context, through the organization and implementation of systematic approaches; or
- A clear commitment to the promotion and development of activities in these fields on a practical and intellectual basis, particularly in regions where such activities are less developed.

Candidates interested in replying to this call for expressions of interest are to demonstrate their competence in the sector. The Commission will then draw up a list of members on the basis of the above criteria.

All expressions of interest must arrive at the address indicated below by 5 May 1995 at the latest.
