Support structure for information and communication activities for DG XVI

The European Commission has published an invitation to tender for a public service contract concerning an intermediate support structure for information and communication activities for the Directorate-General for Regional Policies (DG XVI).

The contract involves the provision of assistance and advice and other services and products in the field of communication to Unit F2, DG XVI, whose responsibilities include communication and information policy.

The intermediate support structure will assist Unit F2 in the planning, implementation and on-going appraisal of the communication strategy for DG XVI. All action undertaken by the intermediate support structure will be subject to clearance from DG XVI. In addition, this work should be coherent with the information policy of DG XVI and the overall information and communication policy of the Commission.

The services to be provided by the intermediate support structure are as follows:

- Relations with the media and the target public concerned with the implementation of regional policies;
- Promotion of links with the media, in particular at regional level, the organization of interviews, and the preparation of press files;
- Follow-up and evaluation of the activities of DG XVI towards the media and the target public;
- Use of such data for the on-going adjustment of the communication programme through the necessary research and study;
- Management and highlighting of events;
- Implementation of events sponsored and part-financed by DG XVI;
- Identification and selection of other events with a view to the participation of DG XVI;
- Organization and monitoring of relations between DG XVI and its partners, relying on relays;
- Communication tools, involving the production and distribution of technical equipment for written and audiovisual information concerning the regional policies of the Commission for events and the media.
