On 26 June 1991 the fourth Protocol on financial and technical cooperation between the European Economic Community and the Kingdom of Jordan was signed on behalf of the Community by the Ambassador Mr. Joseph WEYLAND, Permanent Representative, President of the Committee of Representatives, and by Mr. Juan PRAT, the Commission's Director-General for North-South Relations and Mediterranean Policy, and on behalf of the Kingdom of Jordan by Ambassador Mr. Talal AL HASSAN, Head of Jordan's Mission to the European Communities. The protocol provides for a global sum of ECU 126 million, in the form of EIB loans (80 million), non-reimbursable aid (44 million) and contribution to the formation of risk capital, to be committed during the period expiring 31 October 1996. Priority is given to the financement of projects developing and diversifying agricultural production, reinforcing economic links of mutual benefit to the signatories (industry, training, research, technology), and protection of the environment.
