The launch of the first series of calls for proposal under the Community's Fourth Framework Programme for research and technological development and demonstration (1994-1998) coincides with the launch of the new CORDIS World Wide Web service.

The available documents include calls for proposals, work programmes and information packages which are available in a variety of language versions. They are provided as both text files and as hypertext files. This provides the major advantage of being able to scan a document online and navigate through it using hyperlinks before printing it out or downloading it to a word processor.

The CORDIS server can be accessed using most of the standard WWW browsers such as Netscape and Mosaic at the following location:

http://cordis.europa.eu

It is possible to supply documents directly to CORDIS for inclusion on the WWW. Documents should be in either Word for Windows 2 or WordPerfect 5.1 format or already marked up using the hypertext markup language (HTML). Software is currently freely available to help you do this and further information can be supplied if necessary.

The documents currently available on the CORDIS WWW server are listed in the text (TXT) field of this news item.
