The International Association for the Promotion of Cooperation with Scientists from the New Independent States of the former Soviet Union (INTAS) has announced a joint call for proposals, in collaboration with the Russian Foundation for Basic Research (RFBR).

Scientific research teams from the Russian Federation and from the members of INTAS (the EU Member States, Norway and Switzerland) are invited to submit proposals for joint scientific research projects. Research teams of other New Independent States are also eligible for participation.

The scientific fields covered by this call are:

- Exact and natural sciences;
- Economics;
- Human and social sciences.

A research project must involve at least four participants. These must include two participants from different Russian scientific institutions and two participants from different INTAS members. The duration of a project is two years.

The selection of the submitted proposals will be jointly carried out by the RFBR and INTAS and will be based on the results of independent evaluations of the proposals (peer review), and the funds available.

Selected projects will be jointly supported by the RFBR and INTAS for a total amount of ECU 3.3 million. A maximum of ECU 60,000 will be granted per project. An additional amount of up to 10% of the total project funding will be made available by INTAS for participants from other NIS.
