The European Commission, DG XIII, has published a guide to the services offered by its INNOVATION programme, entitled "Innovating in Europe".

The INNOVATION programme was created to encourage the exchange of information on research, technology and successful commercial use of research results. It also aims to encourage the absorption of new technologies by European companies, in particular SMEs, and to ensure a continued supply of new information in areas such as best practice, commercial innovations and partnerships between European companies.

The guide covers the following topics:

- The INNOVATION programme - a service to make your business more competitive;
- What the INNOVATION programme can do for you;
- Relay Centres - a link to technology and innovation across Europe;
- CORDIS - rapid access to research and exploitation information;
- Building networks of professional people;
- Flexible financing for smaller companies;
- Patent and intellectual property services;
- Project funding.

The guide also gives contact details of those responsible for the programme.
