PHARE - Facility to support approximation of environmental legislation

The Community's PHARE programme of economic aid to Central and Eastern European countries (CEECs) has published a call for expressions of interest concerning the provision of technical assistance to the recently approved PHARE support facility for the environmental approximation.

This facility will assist associated CEECs in the development of strategies for the effective implementation of approximation policies in the environmental field. It will provide three main services, depending on the needs of the associated countries:

- Specific technical assistance study projects which will cover all aspects of approximation implementation strategies;

- Technical cooperation and advice on specific technical issues;

- Support to the functioning of networking bodies and organization of training seminars.

Participation in this call is open on equal terms to all natural and legal persons of the Member States of the European Union or of the partner countries of the PHARE programme. However, only companies registered in the PHARE/TACIS Central Consultancy Register (CCR), or which have submitted a request to be registered in the CCR by 20 April 1996, will be eligible to form consortia for participation in this call.
