Scientific and technical advisers for STOA workshops (European Parliament)

The European Parliament calls for expressions of interest from experts willing to take part in workshops and similar meetings organized by its Science and Technology Options Assessment (STOA) unit. The function of STOA is to provide scientific and technical advice to Members of the European Parliament and Parliamentary Committees in order to help them assess policy options. Recent workshop topics have included: Hazardous waste management; industrial policy; the European Energy Charter; Mediterranean pollution; R&D in Eastern Europe; and bioethics. Suitably qualified persons willing to participate in such workshops are invited to express their interest. A register of such persons, for potential invitation to future meetings, will be established. Invited experts normally receive only travelling, accommodation and meals expenses. In certain circumstances a small honorarium may be payable.
