The European Commission, DG IA, has published a brochure providing information on multi-country and cross-border projects funded under the PHARE programme and approved by the Commission in July, September and October 1995. The PHARE programme provides technical assistance to Central and East European countries which have concluded Europe Agreements with the European Union. These are designed to prepare them for accession to the European Union. The projects include cross-border cooperation programmes for Albania, the Baltic region, Bulgaria, Hungary and Slovenia. In addition, there are seven multi-country programmes, aimed at stimulating the economic and democratic transition of the PHARE countries and preparing them for integration into the European Union. The brochure provides information about the different programmes and lists contact details for contractors wishing to participate in particular activities.
