Analysis of SMEs active in the chemicals, plastics, rubber and associated sectors

The European Commission, DG III, has launched a call to tender for a study concerning SMEs active in the chemicals, plastics, rubber and associated sectors.

This study should achieve five main objectives:

- Identify and define significant public and private initiatives in favour of SMEs for the subsectors of the chemicals industry, plastics, rubber and associated sectors;
- Gain a sound understanding of SMEs related to the abovementioned sectors by setting up an established methodology in cooperation with national federations, Eurostat, national statistical bodies and the relevant Commission services;
- Obtain statistical data necessary for carrying out a structural and conjunctural analysis of SMEs active in the subsectors mentioned above;
- Compile a register of qualitative data for carrying out the analysis of SMEs;
- This objective comprises three phases:
. Carrying out a simultaneous analysis of quantitative information and qualitative information;
. Formulating a series of recommendations and actions to be undertaken;
. Implementing an action programme based on the conclusions drawn up after an analysis of earlier results and a cost/profit analysis.

This study will be spread over two years while respecting the different stages specified in the tender documents. The period for completing the study is set at 15 months from the signature of the contract.
