Selection of a BC-NET/BRE Central Unit operational team

The European Commission, DG XXIII, has published an open invitation to tender for operation of the BC-NET/BRE Central Unit which runs networks helping small and medium-sized enterprises to identify international business partners. The tender also calls for further development of a new integrated cooperation database.

The tender covers the following tasks:

- Intra muros:
. Project coordination and efficient team management;
. Communication and promotion within the network and with SMEs;
. Quality control of cooperation profiles;
. Help desk, routine enquiries from network members and SMEs;
. Data entry and mailing.

- Extra muros:
. Member training;
. Organization of working group session;
. Maintenance and development of the existing information technology tool (BC-NET/BRE systems);
. Technical help desk;
. Finalize the development of a new cooperation database;
. Translation (optional).

Some of these tasks are likely to diminish or disappear as the new database is being established.

The duration of the contract is 13 months. The contract is renewable three times for a period of one year and once for a final period of maximum 11 months. The contract should start in January 1997.
