Evaluation of the tariff structure of the binding tariff information database

The European Commission, DG XXI, has published an invitation to tender for the evaluation of the tariff structure contained in the binding tariff information (BTI) database, in particular by analysing the 70,000 tariff classifications available to date, and their conformity with the Combined Customs Tariff and Statistical Nomenclature (CN).

This expert task of analysing the database content will enable the services of the Commission to avail themselves of the tools necessary for a proper and uniform application of the CN, leading to a just and equitable treatment of economic agents within the Community.

The contract comprises three lots, covering the entire 97 chapters of the CN:

- Evaluation of the BTI tariff content for the agricultural/chemical sector;
- Evaluation of the BTI tariff content for the textile/miscellaneous sector;
- Evaluation of the BTI tariff content for the mechanical sector.
