Report on tourism and environment

The European Environment Agency (EEA) has launched an open call to tender relating to a report on tourism and the environment.

The aim of this project is the preparation of a report, and its associated database, which will investigate and develop existing tourism/environment matrices to produce a more comprehensive matrix (driving forces - pressures - state - impacts - responses). Based on this matrix, the report will provide an up-to-date quantitative assessment of the state and trends of the impact of tourism on Europe's environment. The expected results, to be incorporated in the next state-of-the-environment reports of the EEA, should pave the way for a consistent information and reporting system on this issue (including the production of regular indicators) that could support the policy development process.

Depending on the quality and relevance of the information for public awareness, the report may form the basis for an EEA monograph on the subject.
